Spicy Raisin Bread

This Spicy Raisin Bread is a great alternative to a more traditional breakfast loaf. We love ours toasted and topped with a generous amount of butter.

Spicy Raisin Bread

Preparation Time: 2 hours

Cooking Time: 35 mins

Serves: 1 kg loaf

This is an easy recipe to follow and will be ready to enjoy within a few hours. We used the Dualit Hand Mixer with dough hook attachments to mix the ingredients together.

Method
  1. Place the flour, salt, yeast, butter and sugar in a large bowl and mix using the Hand Mixer with dough hooks.
  2. Continue mixing, slowly adding the water a little at a time.
  3. Add the raisins and mix for a further 10-15 seconds or until combined.
  4. Shape the dough and place in a greased 1kg bread tin or on an oiled baking sheet and cover with a cloth.
  5. Allow to rise in a warm, draught free place for approximately 1-2 hours or until the mixture has doubled in size.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven 220ºC/Gas Mark 7 for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
